Flame-protection solutions – FireShield®
Our flame protection solutions are composed of textured inner glass fibers. These are used for protecting sensitive hoses and pipes, hydraulic lines and cabling in, for example, steel foundries, blast furnaces and forges. Our flame protection solutions are also indispensable in the aviation industry, where they are used to ensure the functionality of the aircraft in case of an emergency (engine failure, fire, etc.).
GREMCO’S FireShield® products are designed to protect hoses, cables and wire harnesses from high heat exposure, flames, molten metal splashes and welding sparks. FireShield® is a high-quality, extruded, silicon rubber-coated fiberglass sleeving, which can be easily installed over hoses and expanded over fittings and connections.
GREMCO’S FireShield® is also available in aerospace grade, which withstands short-term flame exposure to up to 2000°F (1093°C) when installed on a hose assembly that meets SAE Aerospace Standard 1055, and in our industrial grade, which is designed for less demanding applications.
