Formula Student: enthusiasm and technical innovation

Formula Student means much more than just a race. It’s a design competition in which teams from all over the world present their self-developed racing cars and compete against each other in various disciplines. Not only speed on the track matters here. Also design, financial planning, and, last but not least, the team’s business plan are important. The Aixtreme Racing Team from Aachen University of Applied Sciences has made a name for itself in this demanding environment. With their passion for motorsport and their ambition to research innovative technologies, the students compete every year anew.

Transitioning from internal combustion engines to electric drives: The change in the racing world

Over recent years, one of the most exciting developments that the Aixtreme Racing Team has driven forward is the transition from combustion engines to electric drives. With the increasing focus on sustainability and environmental compatibility, this is not only a technological advance, but also a contribution to shaping the future of motorsport.

Currently, the students at FH Aachen are successfully implementing this transition as they are currently presenting an electrically powered racing car alongside their standard racing. Moving forward, the team will focus entirely on cars with electric motors.  They are not only relying on innovative technologies. Also GREMCO’s experience and expertise to integrate the electromechanical components at the highest level.

Not only does the Aixtreme Racing Team shine with technological innovations, but also with impressive successes on the racetrack. The 65 students have demonstrated their skills in national and international competitions and achieved several podium finishes. For example, this season in Spain, where the team achieved third place. These successes are not only a credit to the drivers, but also the result of teamwork and partnership support from companies such as GREMCO.
