Motorsports is characterized by speed, precision, and constant innovation. The Aixtreme Racing Team from Aachen University of Applied Sciences embodies these values and relies on pioneering technologies. Within the framework of Formula Student, an international design competition for student racing cars, the team demonstrates driving skills, technical excellence, and a spirit of innovation.
Formula Student means much more than just a race. It’s a design competition in which teams from all over the world present their self-developed racing cars and compete against each other in various disciplines. Not only speed on the track matters here. Also design, financial planning, and, last but not least, the team’s business plan are important. The Aixtreme Racing Team from Aachen University of Applied Sciences has made a name for itself in this demanding environment. With their passion for motorsport and their ambition to research innovative technologies, the students compete every year anew.
Successful racing teams require not only driving skills, but also reliable partners to ensure technical perfection behind the scenes. As a proud sponsor of the Aixtreme Racing Team, GREMCO plays a decisive role in this context. Specializing in high-quality cables, wires, heat-shrink tubing, and fabric hoses, the company regularly supplies the team with crucial components.
In particular, GREMCO’s MIL cables and wires are used in the complex wiring harnesses of racing cars. These are essential for the reliable transmission of data and power for racing. Not only do the heat-shrink tubing and fabric tubing ensure reliable insulation, but also robust and durable cabling – a decisive factor in the heated competitive environment of Formula Student.
Over recent years, one of the most exciting developments that the Aixtreme Racing Team has driven forward is the transition from combustion engines to electric drives. With the increasing focus on sustainability and environmental compatibility, this is not only a technological advance, but also a contribution to shaping the future of motorsport.
Currently, the students at FH Aachen are successfully implementing this transition as they are currently presenting an electrically powered racing car alongside their standard racing. Moving forward, the team will focus entirely on cars with electric motors. They are not only relying on innovative technologies. Also GREMCO’s experience and expertise to integrate the electromechanical components at the highest level.
Not only does the Aixtreme Racing Team shine with technological innovations, but also with impressive successes on the racetrack. The 65 students have demonstrated their skills in national and international competitions and achieved several podium finishes. For example, this season in Spain, where the team achieved third place. These successes are not only a credit to the drivers, but also the result of teamwork and partnership support from companies such as GREMCO.
The Aixtreme Racing Team of Aachen University of Applied Sciences is not only setting standards in the world of motorsport. Still, it is also actively shaping the future with professionalism and innovation. With GREMCO as a reliable partner, the team remains in the fast lane and will certainly continue to come up with fascinating developments and successes in the future.
