Heat protection, Heat-shrink Tubing FITCOTUBE®
Kynar® is a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) corridor plastic, and the polymer’s fluorine content is 57%. Pile plastics in general exhibit high-temperature resistance, high specific dielectric strength, and good chemical resistance. Kynar®, on the other hand, is additively characterized by its clarity and optional transparency, as well as high mechanical strength, compared to other corridor polymers. Concerning our Kynar® heat shrinkable tubing, this stability makes it possible to still guarantee sufficient electrical sensor protection in terms of dielectric strength with a low wall thickness. Only radiation-crosslinked PVDF is used for our Kynar® heat shrinkable tubing, which gives it the property of infusibility and accordingly gives the heat shrinkable tubing additional value in terms of its temperature resistance. Our outstandingly processable products with their clear transparency make GREMCO the market leader in Germany in the field of Kynar® shrink tubing.
Application of Kynar® heat shrinkable tubing
Due to their thin wall thickness and transparency, yet excellent resistance to high temperatures as well as mechanical impact, Kynar® heat shrinkable tubing is ideal for sensor protection, focusing on the protection of various sensors and pills, as well as their contacts. The most common products to be protected in this way utilizing our heat shrink tubing are temperature sensors. These in turn are used, for example, in the windings of drive motors in e-mobility or the generators of wind turbines, among other applications.
Advantages of our Kynar® product range
A particularly noteworthy quality of our Kynar® products is their high clarity and transparency. This allows, due to the easy visibility, improved control of the protected sensor. Also, GREMCO’s Kynar® heat shrinkable tubing stands out from common alternative products due to its good processability and consequently very low failure rate. Moreover, all our products are UL-listed, which guarantees quality and resilience in various fields of application.
The core product of our PVDF product range is the FT 175, which fulfills all the above-mentioned properties, from its low wall thickness to its permanent temperature resistance of 175°C. The FT 175 is also available in a wide range of other materials. Due to its stiffness, it is not available as spool material as standard but cut to length as a 1.2-meter rod. If spool material is preferred due to the required type of application, there is the slightly modified heat shrink tubing FT 275, which is somewhat more flexible and therefore spoolable. For even more temperature-intensive applications, we recommend the FT 190, which is characterized by a permanent temperature resistance of up to 190 degrees.
