High-pressure hoses PTFE Easy Bend and PTFE General Purpose

The GREMCO high-pressure hoses are media-carrying tubes made of extruded PTFE encased in an outer sheath of high-quality steel braiding. The PTFE base hose is available either as a smooth or corrugated hose, according to requirements. The high-pressure hoses PTFE Easy Bend (corrugated inner hose) and PTFE General Purpose (smooth inner hose) are characterized by their excellent pressure resistance, chemical resistance, their mechanical resistance to external influences and their tolerance to high temperatures up to 260°C. However, PTFE Easy Bend high-pressure hoses show their optimum pressure resistance at temperature conditions around 20°C.

Variations of the inner hose

Regarding most properties, no relevant difference can be found between a smooth or corrugated inner hose. The main differentiation can be seen in terms of mechanical flexibility. For example, the versions of the PTFE Easy Bend high-pressure hose with corrugated hose are characterized by greatly increased mechanical flexibility compared to the PTFE General Purpose variant with smooth design. This allows tight bending radii of up to 18 mm. Conversely, the smooth variants have a higher pressure resistance of up to 965 bars. Furthermore, in addition to the described standard version with an internal PTFE hose, GREMCO also offers variants with other fluoroplastic hoses such as FEP, PFA, or ETFE on request. All high-pressure hoses are also available in different dimensions, lengths and braided constructions. In addition, our ultra-high pressure hoses FitcoHose Ultra are available on request. These are ideal for applications under extreme pressure levels.

Application of the high-pressure hoses

Due to their excellent pressure resistance combined with high chemical resistance, PTFE Easy Bend and PTFE General Purpose high-pressure hoses are ideally suited for application as media-carrying hoses of, for example, oil. As such, we use the hoses primarily in the automotive sector as supply and return lines for oil lines. Their exceptional temperature resistance enables them to be used in engine compartments as well. Furthermore, these hoses are used in a media-carrying function as coolant hoses in automobiles. Moreover, these high-pressure hoses are also utilized in the industrial sector on hydraulic lines because of their pressure and temperature resistance.
