The main product in our wide range of products is the FITCOTUBE® FT100 heat shrinkable tubing, which is made of high-quality polyolefin and is manufactured in a thin-walled version. Polyolefin is a collective term for various types of plastics from the group of olefins, which are produced from oil or natural gas through polymerization and represent the most extensive group of plastics. The range of polyolefins includes, for example, the common synthetic materials polyethylene, polypropylene, or polymethyl pentene. These are generally characterized by easy as well as diverse processing possibilities.
The GREMCO FITCOTUBE® FT100 heat shrinkable tubing is a very flexible and particularly high-quality product, which stands out due to its excellent electrical insulation properties as well as mechanical and chemical resistance. Furthermore, with a temperature resistance within the amplitude of -55 to 135 °C as well as the flame-retardant and self-extinguishing material properties, the universally applicable heat shrink tubing is also excellently suited for both temperature-intensive applications and exposure to extreme environmental influences. The 2:1 shrink ratio tubing also features a minimum shrink temperature of only 90°C for complete shrinkage. Significantly higher shrink temperatures are possible for a short time to accelerate the shrinking process. The specified inner diameter on delivery is the guaranteed minimum diameter. The specified inner diameter after shrinkage is the maximum diameter after free shrinkage. FITCOTUBE® FT100 heat shrinkable tubing is available in black, yellow, red, white, blue, and transparent. It should be noted that other properties may apply to a transparent version, for example, transparent is generally excluded from UL approval. The standard packaging of the FITCOTUBE® FT100 is coil material. Cut or printed versions and special sizes are also available on request.
The FITCOTUBE® FT100 heat shrinkable tubing is used in a variety of application contexts. For example, in the aviation sector for mechanical strain and bend relief of cables and wires. Another area of application for this versatile product is the insulation of cables, wires, and plug-in and soldered connections of all kinds in the aviation sector, industry, mechanical engineering, environmental technology, and medical technology. The tubing is also used as abrasion and corrosion protection for electromechanical components or, thanks to its high surface quality, for finishing metal or plastic surfaces. In addition, shrink tubing is used, among other things, in control cabinets for marking utilizing different colors or with printing, which facilitates identification. Transparent tubing enables subsequent inspection of shrink-wrapped assemblies and can be used for insulation and abrasion protection of markings. Due to the low shrink temperature of +90°C, the tubing is particularly suitable for use with temperature-sensitive components. FITCOTUBE® FT100 is available with MIL, UL, and CSA approval for applications in the military, medical and electrical industries where standardized products are required.
