These are used for protecting sensitive hoses and pipes, hydraulic lines and cabling in, for example, steel foundries, blast furnaces and forges. Our flame protection solutions are also indispensable in the aviation industry, where they are used to ensure the functionality of the aircraft in case of an emergency (engine failure, fire, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>GREMCO&#8217;S FireShield\u00ae products are designed to protect hoses, cables and wire harnesses from high heat exposure, flames, molten metal splashes and welding sparks. FireShield\u00ae is a high-quality, extruded, silicon rubber-coated fiberglass sleeving, which can be easily installed over hoses and expanded over fittings and connections.<\/p>\n<p>GREMCO&#8217;S FireShield\u00ae is also available in aerospace grade, which withstands short-term flame exposure to up to 2000\u00b0F (1093\u00b0C) when installed on a hose assembly that meets SAE Aerospace Standard 1055, and in our industrial grade, which is designed for less demanding applications.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 21px;\">Properties<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Operating temperatures: -73\u00b0C \u2013 260\u00b0C\/ -99\u00b0F to 500\u00b0F<\/li>\n<li>Short-term exposure to up to 1093\u00b0C \/ 2000\u00b0F<\/li>\n<li>Temporary protective barrier against flame penetration<\/li>\n<li>Resistant to hydraulic fluids, lubricating oils and other acids<\/li>\n<li>Protection against mechanical and environmental influences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 21px;\">Performance data<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>GREMCO&#8217;s FireShield\u00ae hosing is made of Type 2 silicone rubber composites manufactured by coating a fiberglass-braided backing with a specially formulated coating of red oxide silicone rubber. The standard product meets the requirements of SAE Aerospace Standard AS1072 Type 2. Suitable hoses covered with Aerospace FireShield\u00ae have been tested in accordance with UL 73\/SAE 1055 and have allowed hose manufacturers to meet the following specifications: UL 181, SAE 1055 Class A and B, and FAA standards TSO-C53a and TSO-C75.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 21px;\">Colors<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>GREMCO&#8217;s FireShield\u00ae flame-retardant product solution is furthermore available in a variety of colors.<\/p>\n<p>Our industrial FireShield\u00ae flame solutions are available in a variety of colors.
