The group of <strong>polyolefins<\/strong>, which are produced from various energy sources by means of polymerization, includes some best-known plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene, and polymethylpentene. These are distinguished by their variable and simple processing possibilities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-5266 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.gremco.de\/app\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Elastomers-650x650-1.png\" alt=\"thin wall heat shrink tubing\" width=\"218\" height=\"218\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Properties of Fitcotube\u00ae FT555<\/h2>\n<p>Fitcotube\u00ae FT555 heat shrink tubing combines high quality with excellent affordability. Due to its extra-thin wall thickness and high flexibility, it is particularly easy and fast to process. The radiation-crosslinked tubing is completely halogen-free and complies with the requirements of RoHS and REACH. In addition, the sleeving meets the requirements of the manufacturer&#8217;s specification VW 50 180 as well as VW 50 181. Furthermore, the Fitcotube\u00ae FT555 shrink tubing can be certified as flame-retardant per the FMVSS 302 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gremco.de\/en\/magazin\/national-standards-international-approvals\/\">standard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The permanent temperature of the shrink tubing covers the range from &#8211; 70 \u00b0C to + 135 \u00b0C. However, for short periods, the application under temperatures of up to +225 \u00b0C is possible. For a complete shrinkage, a minimum shrinkage temperature of + 90 \u00b0C is required, resulting in a shrinkage ratio of 2:1. Nevertheless, shrinkage starts at 60 \u00b0C. The tubing is available as a standard only in black color, as well as in spools or on request in cut and printed form in the required dimension. Other colors are available on request. Depending on the selected version of the shrink tubing, the wall thickness varies from 0.31 to 1.40 mm. The inner diameter after shrinkage ranges from 0.60 to 63.50 mm.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Applications<\/h2>\n<p>Mountable heat shrink tubing Fitcotube\u00ae FT555 is used for racketing, insulation, and marking of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gremco.de\/en\/wire-and-cable-products\/\">wires and cables<\/a> in various industrial applications. However, the main application of tubing is in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gremco.de\/en\/automotive-industry\/\">automotive sector<\/a>. Here, shrink tubing is primarily used in <strong>headlights<\/strong>, where the non-outgassing tubing is used to prevent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gremco.de\/en\/magazin\/fogging-issue\/\">fogging<\/a>. Consequently, Fitcotube\u00ae FT555 shrink tubing meets all VW standards required for this purpose. In the meantime, our tubing is used by all well-known OEMs as well as their system suppliers for lighting technology at c<strong>able splices<\/strong> in headlights.
